August 2007

It's been a couple of years now since our dogs Ozzie and Spike passed away and our home feels very empty.  A visit to a local area meet and greet event in Walnut Creek, CA, was the start to a wonderful experience. We met with Susan Aceves of the "Amazing Greys Retired Racers" adoption organization.  After talking for a while and having our questions and concerns answered, we decided to submit an application to adopt a greyhound.

Susan visited our home so she could get a feel of our surroundings and our personalities which aided her in finding the right match, not just for us, but for the greyhound as well. Greyhound personalities as we have found, vary significantly from very confident and very active, to very shy, reserved and sometimes fearful.

Susan came up trumps, and found what she thought would be a perfect match for us.......a greyhound called Cooper (racing name "JetLag Cooper"). Cooper is male, and quite large for a greyhound. He's very confident and active, loves to play rough, and enjoys a good brisk walk around the neighborhood. Just over one year later, Miss Elizabeth joined our fold. Lizzie is quite shy but very affectionate and fun loving once she gets to know you.
